2013. A Look Back.

2013 was such an amazing year. It was my first year really to dive into wedding photography & run my own business. I’ve learned so much through trail & error, the people I’ve met, & all the things I’ve experienced good and bad & I wouldn’t take back one minute of it. I photographed 5 weddings, was a 2nd shooter for 7 weddings, photographed over 8 engagements, attended 1 workshop & my photography was featured on 6 online publications. Now to some this may not sound like much, but being a full time graphic designer I devote a lot of time & energy to my job…so to accomplish this list & pursue my photography goals deserves a high five if you ask me! Three of my mobile photographs were even chosen to be on VSCO grid, which is a HUGE deal to me, because there are some insane iphone photographers out there worldwide (@trashhand being my favorite), and somehow a girl from Baytown Texas got her work to shine through ya’ll! You can follow my mobile photography journey on my instagram @poorartist & kristencurette.vsco.co.

To the people in these photographs, thank you…seriously thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve allowed me to grow not only as a photographer, but as a person and for that I’m forever grateful. Grand shoutout to my love Daemaine Hines for his support, love & always keeping me inspired!Β  Here’s to another great year & another great adventure!

I want to dedicate this to Big Mom, my wonderful grandmother, who has taught me that success has nothing to do with what you gain or accomplish in life, but what you do for others…and that is true power. I love you & you will be forever missed. R.I.P

  • I just want to say that your stuff is truly amazing. It’s so beautiful, your work. I’m so jealous at your talent but extremely inspired by it too. I find it crazy that you’re from Texas. I’m also from Texas! I’m a fashion student/blogger. I love stuff like photography, art, graffiti, skate, urban, etc. I found you because of your boyfriend’s lookbook.nu account. I’m on a search for more people locally like me who loves expressing their creativity. πŸ™‚
