Where are you based?
Houston, Tx is home but we travel globally. Stories are everywhere and so am I. Nothing like getting on the road or hopping on a plane for a good adventure. I have worked as far as Jamaica, Europe and West / East Coast. Passport in my hand, let’s do this.
Do you travel for weddings? If so, are there travel fees involved?
Of course! We travel for around 70% of our weddings. I have special packages for domestic and overseas weddings. Just inquire for more information. We have a $0.50 per mile driving fee (round trip) for weddings over 60 miles drive from Houston, Tx. We usually cap our driving distance at around 4-6 hours drive. If further, we will fly. All air travel is to be provided by the client, as well as any lodging necessary. Any necessary lodging is to be paid for and provided by the client for the night before and the night of the wedding.
What all do you shoot?
I specialize in lifestyle & wedding photography. I shoot anything from portraits, families, pets, engagements & weddings!

Do you have insurance?
Yup! Up to one million dollars in liability insurance. If your vendor needs a copy just let me know.
Do you shoot film?
I absolutely love film. In the last few years it’s become a major source of inspiration. Some of the weddings I shoot a few rolls, but not at every wedding. I stick mostly to digital as my go-to medium on a wedding day. Your wedding story unfolds quickly & I want to be ready for every moment. Digital allows me to quickly and efficiently tell your story. If we have time & the ability to slow down, I’ll most likely whip out a film camera for some portraits.
When can we expect our photos?
Every photo you receive will be completely edited by yours truly. Trust me, I want you to have them as quickly as possible BUT editing & making sure your photos look perfect & is a process that requires time. For portrait sessions, you can expect your photos 3-4 weeks* after your shoot. For weddings, you can expect your amazing gallery 3 – 4 months* after your wedding date. I promise you, it is worth the wait!!
What kind of cameras do you shoot with?
I shoot strictly on a Canon 5D Mark III + II and a Pentax 645N Medium format camera.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I carry backup equipment at all times – bodies, lenses, and flashes. My husband also 2nd shoots with me, so he also has gear.
Do you provide every image you shoot?
One thing about me is I shoot ALOT. I got through all the images & deliver the best of the best. For portrait / engagement sessions I usually deliver anywhere from 60 – 100 images. For weddings, which can be totally different from one to another, I deliver anywhere from 500 – 1300 images.
Can we have the raw photos?
That would be a solid no. RAW files are unedited, untouched, unsorted files that I pour my heart & soul into editing & work my magic on every single image so that everything looks beautiful and cohesive when you receive the final photos. It’s what makes my images unique & probably what attracted you to my work in the first place.
Do you offer military discount?
All active military & or first repsonders receives a 10% discount. Discounts pertains to the initial investment only, which excludes purchases made after the wedding. Savings based on the non-discounted prices of Kristen Curette Photography.
How long will the online gallery be available?
Guaranteed a whole year. You will also get a hard copy USB mailed to you for your records.
What are our rights to the photos?
You are allowed to print away, make mugs and magnets to your heart’s delight. The only thing that is restricted is commercial usage.
Can we print through you?
Yes! While you do receive the print release, you’re more than welcome to print through me. I work with a professional print lab & you also have the option to print directly from your online gallery.

What happens if you are ill or cannot shoot our wedding?
With this being a very very rare case, I know a network of super talented photographers & I guarantee someone amazing and similar styled will be able to capture your day in case of an emergency.
Do you offer albums?
Yes. I offer incredible quality albums & an array of other products.
What types of payment do you accept?
Credit card, debit card, cash, & PayPal. You can pay easily online.
We’re ready to book you guys as our photographers! What happens next?
It’s pretty simple! I draft up a digital proposal & contract – which you look over & sign online. A non refundable 25% deposit is required to officially save your date, the remainder is due 2 weeks before your wedding or 3 days before your portrait session. Bada bing bada boom.
